Fall into fitness: Why autumn’s a great time to exercise outdoors

This is the first in a four-part series on exercising outdoors in the fall.
What’s your favorite season to exercise outdoors?
Many people say it’s fall, when there are many days when the weather is that just right, not-too-hot, not-too cold temperature.
Whereas on 90-degree summer days a long walk or run outside would be miserable for many people, cool fall temperatures make it just right to go outside and exercise.
Get off your treadmills and elliptical machines while the weather is perfect for outdoor exercise, but it’s nice to know you can still workout indoors on those types of machines if the weather turns bad.
Autumn weather often provides the perfect climate to hit the sidewalks, trails, roads, tracks or wherever else you find good places to walk, run and bike.
Checking out the changing colors of the leaves also provides a beautiful backdrop.
Enjoy the camaraderie of fall fitness by exercising with family and-or friends, and feeding off the energy of others who are enjoying the great outdoors.
