Not Losing Weight? These Reasons May be Why

Have you been working out on a regular basis, yet you haven’t been able to lose any weight?  If so, chances are pretty good that you are making one of these three common mistakes:

· Eating too many calories
· Eating too many processed foods
· Failing to perform the right exercises

The reality is that you can only lose weight if you manage to burn off more calories than you are consuming.  Otherwise, while exercising may be preventing weight gain, it won’t help you with weight loss.  So, if you haven’t made changes to your eating habits, you may not be able to shed off those extra pounds.

Many people mistakenly believe that exercising on a regular basis gives them the green light to eat whatever they like. This simply isn’t true.  In addition to cutting back on calories, you should also take steps to cut back on processed foods such as white bread, donuts, chips, cookies and cake if you hope to lose weight.  Try filling your diet with lean protein, fruits, vegetables and healthy fats instead.

You may be surprised to learn that performing the wrong exercises can also make it difficult to lose weight.  While any type of physical activity is good for your health, certain exercises are better suited for helping with burning off the pounds.  Interval training and strength training, for example, can be very effective methods for shedding the pounds.  In addition, through interval training, you can increase your fat burning results while also spending less time working out.
