The Low Intensity Cardio Workout

With a low intensity cardio workout, you exercise at a pace that is comfortable to you throughout the entire workout.  While a low intensity cardio workout does not actually help your cardiovascular system a great deal, engaging in a low intensity cardio workout is still a good way to burn fat.  If you are particularly out of shape, a low intensity cardio workout is a good way to get started on the path to better health. 

Deciding on the Workout Level that is Right for You

When it comes to choosing the level of cardio workout that is best for you, you should take several things into consideration.  First, you should consider your current level of physical fitness.  If you are out of shape, it is probably in your best interest to engage in a low intensity cardio workout before you push yourself too hard. 

Even if you are in reasonably good shape, however, you might want to incorporate a mixture of high intensity and low intensity cardio in your routine.  In fact, interval training that involves alternating between high intensity and low intensity is a good way to enjoy the benefits of a high intensity workout while avoiding overly straining yourself or causing burn out.  In addition, engaging in low intensity cardio workouts is a good way to maintain your level of fitness if you are pleased with where you already are.
